THAMES BARRIER PARK
Built as part of the Thames Rejuvenation for English Heritage, this park was one of the first sizeable jobs undertaken by KONFORM and won much acclaim for its high end concrete works that have set an extremley high standard for engineers and archietects alike to achieve.
The park is approxiametley 26 acres of river front land situated on the North bank of the river next to the Thames Barrier.
The works consisted of a series of 7 meter high retaining walls, a number of bridges, a pavillin cafe, a capping beam along the Thames and water feature. Nominated for several awards the park has become iconic and is famous for its exposed concrete finishes. Countless articles ahve been written and several books on the concrete on this project.
